Greater Gardenside Association to staff booth at the Gardenside Farmers Market

The Greater Gardenside Association, the community association serving the neighborhoods surrounding St. Raphael’s, will have a booth each week at the Lexington Farmers Market at Gardenside. The Farmers Market is located at Gardenside Plaza, 1729 Alexandria Dr.

The Lexington Farmers Market at Gardenside is open each Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. June 2 – August 25th.

St. Raphael Episcopal Church is a member of the Greater Gardenside Association and Rev. Helen Van Koevering has signed up to help staff the booth from 4 – 5:30 on several Wednesdays from 4 – 5:30. Please drop by and say hello! Also, if you would like to assist in the booth please contact Rev. Helen.

On June 2nd plan to attend the Welcome to Summer Festival at the Farmers Market. Activities for all ages have been planned, including

  • On the Move Art Studio
  • Living Arts and Science Center
  • Lexington Health Department
  • Live Green Lexington
  • Bluegrass Greensource
  • First5Lex (ages 0-5)
  • Button Lyfe ($1)
  • Music Live Foundation – (play on percussion instruments)

POP Club (from Food Chain) at Farmers Market (Power of Produce), ages 3 – 14, 4 – 6 p.m.

–With the POP club we will have a different activity each week for the kids who participate (available in English and Spanish)- some of these will be packaged as to-go kits to reduce contact.

–In addition, each week kids who participate will receive a $2 voucher for fruits and veggies to spend at the Farmers Market. We are excited to be able to bring this to the market this year!

–FoodChain will also be providing suppers to-go for kids 1-18 as part of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
